The fashion clothing chain Pacific Sunwear of California (PacSun) founded in 1982 is now a brand that supports Cryptocurrency. The company has chains in 50 states and as of now has 400 stores.
The announcement that was publicized regarding their acceptance of cryptocurrency went as follows.
“Pacsun prides itself on learning from its core consumer of Gen Z. With cryptocurrency being one of the major trends currently among that audience.”
Pacsun performs these payments with the use of Bitpay. They work with several forms of crypto including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Wrapped Bitcoin. Bitpay also accepts the five stable coins that are tied to the U.S. dollar.
Brie Olson the President of Pacsun state:
“With digital sales doubling since last year, we understand the continued importance of creating an exceptional online shopping experience for our customers… its incredible to pave the way for the fashion and retail industry, being the first to offer cryptocurrency payments through Bitpay and we anticipate many other companies following suit considering the ease it brings to the checkout process.”
PacSun is a company that is aware of the growing popularity of crypto. They are looking to stay up to date with the current trends. Following the launch of their new line Pacsun Kids in collaboration with Roblox metaverse, they became more aware of the crypto trend.

The co – CEO of Pacsun Michael Relich, said that the people giving them the most business are the Gen Z generation. Therefore he sees it as very important to attract their attention. He cares to “align with their lifestyles and resonate with them on a more personal level” Relich stated. Relich concluded that he saw the increasing popularity and desire people had towards cryptocurrency. He then made an effort to offer various other payment options in order to boost the confidence of the retailers.
