Elon Musk – $277 billion (+$121 billion)
The co-founder of Tesla, Elon Musk is the world’s richest man. He has experienced massive growth in his wealth due to the popularity of his electric automaker. His shares have gone up about 60% this year and as for Tesla itself in October 2021 it reached a $1 trillion market cap for the first time in its existence.
Musk has been selling millions of Tesla shares recently to cover a reported $12 billion tax bill related to a stock option package he got in 2012.

Jeff Bezos – $195 billion (+$5 billion)
Jeff Bezos was once considered the world’s richest man, however this past year his wealth did not grow drastically. He left 2021 with an additional $5 billion than he started with.
Mr. Bezos stepped down as CEO of Amazon and has devoted more time to his Bezos Earth Fund, The Washington Post, and the Amazon Day 1 Fund instead.

Bernard Arnault – $176 billion (+ $61 billion)
Bernard Arnault the owner of a couple of luxury goods brands has added $61 billion to his wallet. Mr. Arnault is the owner of Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Givenchy and is now Europe’s richest man.

Bill Gates – $139 billion (+ $7 billion)
Bill Gates continues to grow in wealth despite giving away approximately tens of billions of dollars over the past decade. His wealth continues to grow thanks to the performance of Microsoft which is the company he co-founded and has 1% of still. Despite his growth of $7 billion Gates also divorced his wife of 25 years Melinda French Gates this year.

Larry Page $130 billion (+ $47 billion)
Larry Page the co-founder of Google added $47 billion to his wealth all thanks to the success of Alphabet in 2021. They surpassed a market cap of $2 trillion in November. Page has gone down from being the CEO of Alphabet however, he remains a board member.

Mark Zuckerberg – $128 billion (+ $24 billion)
Mark Zuckerberg is the only member on the world’s 10 richest people list that is below the age of 40. Zuckerberg is 37 and his wealth has increased by $24 billion this past year. In addition to being CEO of Facebook and Instagram, he owns 13% of Meta, which has grown 20% in value this year.

Sergey Brin – $125 billion (+ $45 billion)
Sergey Brin is Google’s other co-founder and his net worth has grown by $45 billion this past year. In addition, he sits on the Alphabet company board and owns 38 million in shares of the company.

Steve Ballmer – $122 billion (+ $41 billion)
Steve Ballmer is the former Microsoft CEO as well as the owner of the NBA Los Angeles Clippers. Ballmer is $41 billion richer in 2022 and it’s due to the popularity of tech stock like Microsoft that grew at about 50%.

Larry Ellison – $109 billion (+ $29 billion)
Larry Ellison is the chairman and founder of Oracle has experienced its second gain in 20 years. Ellison has now stepped into the $100 billion clubs adding a net worth of $29 billion to his earnings.

Warren Buffett – $109 billion (+ $21 billion)
Warren Buffett is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and he has added $21 billion to his fortune this past year.
